History

Skyline United Methodist Church was officially chartered Charted on September 25, 1966, Skyline was established to meet the spiritual needs of the people in the Pike Creek Valley.  The Pastor appointed to organize the church was Ron Berngman,   We quickly moved from a basement at local model home to Skyline Junior High School, until the congregation was able to meet in our first church building in 1976.  Through the years, the grove has been a frequent meeting place during the sprint, summer and fall months.

In 2013, Rev. Carmella (Carm) Evans was appointed to Skyline.  Under her leadership, we began the Wellness Center offering a holistic approach to growth.  During her years, our youth group and children’s ministries were specific areas of delight, under the leadership of Brent O’Neil.  The worship teams, offering both contemporary and classic hymns sought to reach both younger and older generations.

Our current Pastor, Ruthann Turner, began her tenure right before the most difficult time for our community and the world, when Covid hit in March 2020.  She has a unique ability to share God’s message so that it’s understandable and relatable to current times. Much with the enthusiasm of Pastor Bo, Ruthann is full of light and love.  Through her continued perseverance, we’ve been able to maintain superior levels of engagement in our church community, offering hybrid worship and children’s ministry, continued giving and outreach to our community and hospitality to all.
